How private hire works
Book a private space or take a venue in full. We shape the space, the menu and the details around your event, from an intimate dinner for a dozen to a group of fifty in the Old Quarter lounge or ninety in the West Lake main dining room. Tell us the occasion, the date and a rough headcount, and we will build it with you.

Private hire, answered
- Can we book the whole restaurant?
- Yes, at both venues. Barbak - Old Quarter is one of very few Old Quarter restaurants you can book in full, and West Lake takes the main dining room and lakeside terrace as a whole.
- What is the largest group you can host?
- West Lake's cathedral-style main dining room seats up to about 90, and the Old Quarter's exclusive private lounge up to about 50, each with two private dining spaces for about 12. For a larger party, the whole restaurant can be yours.
- Do you host year-end (tất niên) parties?
- Yes. The season runs from mid-November to Tết, and the best dates are held one to three months ahead, so this is the time to ask.
- How much does private hire cost?
- Event menus run from 800.000đ++ to 3.500.000đ++ per guest, depending on the menu, the date and the format. The ++ is before VAT and service. Tell us the budget you have in mind and we build the menu around it.
- Can we give a presentation or speeches?
- Yes. Our private spaces have private sound and a projector, suited to corporate dinners and client presentations.
- Do you have vegetarian options?
- Yes, there is a real vegetarian choice on the menu, not an afterthought. Tell us any preferences when you enquire.
- Does BARBAK offer a free flow drinks package for private events?
- Yes, and the point is the length: four hours, where the market usually shows two to three. Free flow beer is 500.000đ per guest and free flow house wine is 750.000đ per guest, at both Hanoi venues. A drinks package can be paired with a private dining menu for a group of about 12 to 90 guests, or with a full buyout of either venue.
- How much does a private event at BARBAK cost per guest?
- A private dining menu at BARBAK runs from 800.000đ++ to 3.500.000đ++ per guest, depending on the menu, the time of year and the format. The ++ means VAT and service are not included. BARBAK issues a full VAT invoice, accepts bank transfer and signs a stamped contract. There is no minimum guest count, at either Hanoi venue.
- What facilities do BARBAK's private spaces have?
- The private spaces at both venues have a private WC, a sofa area, a balcony, a video projector and karaoke. A mini bar is available at Barbak - Old Quarter, 51 Hàng Bồ, Hoàn Kiếm. On decoration, table flowers and candles are included; for something bespoke, your own decorator can work on site while BARBAK handles the menu and the service.
